Kolhapur, Oct 8 (IESports) Indian shooter Shahu Tushar Mane claimed a silver medal in 10-meter air rifle event in Youth Olympics games which is currently under way in Argentina.
Adding to his latest medal tally , Shahu became the first Indian shooter who has won a medal in Yuva Olympics competition.
In final round, on Sunday night, Shahu clinched silver medal with 247.5 points, Grigoli (Russia) won gold and Aleska(Sabiya) claimed bronze medal.
Last year, Shahu had won bronze in Asian championship, which had held in Japan and in international shooting competitions, he had won two gold, and one each silver and bronze so far.
He took training under the guidance of international shooters Suma Shirur and Deepali Deshpande.
His father Tushar Mane, who’s is a owner of a medical shop and resident in Shivaji Peth area of the city, while talking with reporters on his son’s success, said that his performance in Yuva Olympics was a feather in one’s cap even he has a back pain and expressed hope that such performance in future also.
