New Delhi, Dec 10 (IECurrentAffairs) In a setback to the BJP-led NDA just a day ahead of the counting of votes for polls in five states, RLSP leader and Union Minister of State Upendra Khushwaha on Monday is set to quit the government and ruling combine.
“Upendra Khushwaha is set ready to quit the ministry. The letter may be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office or he could meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” a source said here.
Mr Khushwaha was peeved over the seat adjustment talks among the NDA constituents and reportedly insisted that he should be given three or four seats among the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar.
Mr Khushwaha’s party has three MPs in the Lok Sabha. However, Jahanabad MP Arun Kumar had last year “dissociated” himself from Mr Khushwaha.
The RLSP leader’s move to quit the NDA is expected to give a boost to the anti-BJP forces for next year’s general elections.
