Zurich, Oct 18 (UNI) The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) on Thursday banned Russian club Kazan for a year, for spending more money than the fixed limit.
The decision has been taken in view of financial transparency, the Association said in a statement here.
The European soccer body said in a statement that the ban would come into effect, if the club qualified for the Europe, in the next two seasons.
The Association said, “Kazan Club has been ousted from the UEFA next club championship, if the club qualifies, this ban will be applicable for the next two seasons and it will not be able to play in it.”
Under the UEFA’s financial fair play rules, the European football clubs are barred from spending more than their revenues.
