Surprise midnight inspection conduted by Yogi Adityanath in PM’s Varanasi constituency

Varanasi, Oct 29 (Indian Expose) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a surprise inspection of the development works in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Varanasi constituency late on Sunday night.

He directed the officials to complete the construction of Ramnagar port on the Ganga soon so that it was ready for inauguration next month.

During the inspection, the CM also warned the officials to pull up their socks to complete all the projects on time or face action.

“Authorities should identify the officials who shirk work and take appropriate action,” he said,

The CM, who is on a two-day visit to Varanasi, reached the temple city on Sunday evening from Azamgarh. He then proceeded for inspection of the developmental works, including the projects to be used for the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas to be held from January 21,2019.

The Ramnagar port is likely to be inaugurated next month by the PM himself. The inauguration would launch the goods ferry service from Haldia to Varanasi and is expected to transport one lakh tonne of goods every month. Waterways is the cheapest mode of goods transport in the world.

After the inspection of the works at the Ramnagar port, the CM went to review the progress on the Kashi Vishwanath corridor. He also inspected the works at the ring road, and other flyovers being constructed in the city besides other beautification schemes.

The inspection continued till 0200 hrs in the morning and the CM also held several rounds of meeting with the district officials.

Mr Adityanath expressed displeasure over traffic snarls in the city and directed the officials to make a road map to end the chaos immediately.

He also announced that by November, the government would construct 11 lakh Pradhanmantri Awas and soon announce a date for its inauguration.
