Mumbai: Indian market maintained its winning streak for the fourth straight session on Monday, as BSE Sensex surged by 879.42 pts, breaching 33K level to 33,303.52 on strong global cues.
Even, buying was seen across the board too lifted the market.The nifty of national stock exchange too advanced by 245.85 pts to 9,826.15.
The nifty registered days high and low at 9,931.60 and 9,706.95 respectively. The day opened on a strong note at 32,906.05, up by 482 pts. During the day it spurted by 1249 pts, before closing at 33,303.52, advancing by 879.42 pts from its previous close.
The market buoyed by the phased re-opening of the economy post an over 2-month lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
Sectoral indices like Consumer Durable, Metal, Finance, Consumer Discretionary Goods and services and Energy boosted the market.
In scrips, Bajaj finance was star gainer up by nearly 11 pc followed by Titan, Tata Steel, SBI and M& M.
The Mid Cap was up by 2.65 pc and Small Cap too 3.03 pc.
In 30 scrips, 25 advanced while 5 declined.
