Demand to cancel bail, investigate death of Fr Kuriakose, probe Bishop Franco's financial dealing

Kochi, Nov 1 (IENews) The Save Our Sisters (SOS) Action Council will be having a protest march of November 14th to urge the government to cancel the conditional bail granted to Bishop Franco Mulakkal.

The protest will also demand for timely investigation into the mysterious death of Fr Kuriakose Kuttuthara.

The convener of the SOS Action Council, Fr Augustine Vattoly, said, “The death of Fr Kuriakose has shocked many faithfuls in the Church. He has given a statement to the police in connection with the alleged rape of a nun by Bishop Franco.”

“Witnesses can be influenced by the spiritual and political leaders who are backing Bishop Franco. Family of the survivor and the nuns supporting her are receiving threats from people supporting Bishop Franco. The government has the responsibility to ensure the nuns’ safety,” Vattoly further expressed.

The Action Council also demanded a detailed probe into the financial dealings of Bishop Franco Mulakkal.
