Sabarimala row: BJP calls for Bandh in UT on Nov 26

Puducherry, Nov 20 (IECurrentAffairs) The Puducherry unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday called for a 12 hour bandh in all the four regions of the Union Territory on November 26 with regard to Sabarimala issue.

BJP state president V Saminathan MLA (Nominated) told news persons that the CPI-M-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala headed by Mt Pinarayi Vijayan is allegedly functioning against the Hindus and Hindu faith.

There is apprehension whether a faithful could worship Lord Iyyappan at Sabarimala and return safely, he said, adding that women who got faith in the culture and Sabarimala has not dared to visit the shrine so far.
It is a deliberate attempt of the CPI-M government in Kerala to lower the sanctity of Sabarimala temple, he added.

Hence, to condemn the Kerala government and urging to protect the Sabarimala, the BJP will organize a 12 hour bandh on Monday next Mr Saminathan said and called up on the iyyappa devotees, traders, transport workers and public to give utmost cooperation to the bandh.
