Nagpur, Oct 18 (IENews) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat extends support to the Sabarimala protestors saying the decision to allow entry of female devotees into Ayyappa temple was taken without adhering to long-held traditions.
“The premise of the tradition was accepted by the society and continuously followed for years together. This aspect was not taken into consideration. The version of heads of religious denominations and faith of crores of devotees was not taken into account,” Bhagwat said in his annual Vijaya Dashami speech at Reshmibagh ground here.
The famous and sacred Sabarimala Temple opened its doors to women on Wednesday following last month’s Supreme Court order that struck down the centuries old ban on the entry of women. But not a single woman has been able to set her feet inside.
