Ramveer Singh Bidhuri appointed as Leader of Opp in Delhi Assy

New Delhi Feb 24 (IECurrentAffairs) Four-time Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ramveer Singh Bidhuri was on Monday appointed as the Leader of Opposition in the 7th Delhi Assembly after he was unanimously elected by the BJP MLAs as Leader of the Legislative party.
Bidhuri has won from Badarpur Assembly seat and his name was announced at the Delhi BJP office by Saroj Pandey, party’s national general secretary and central observer, in presence of Delhi unit president Manoj Tiwari, said Delhi BJP media relations head Neelkant Bakshi.
Bidhuri had defeated Ram Singh Netaji of the Aam Aadmi Party in the recently concluded polls.
The BJP won eight seats in Delhi’s 70-member Assembly. In the previous assembly, Vijender Gupta, the MLA from Rohini was the Leader of the Opposition.
Mr Gupta has also been elected from Rohini. However, given the seniority of Mr Bidhuri, he is preferred over Mr Gupta this time. Mr Bidhuri has also been an MLA in the first, third and fifth Vidhan Sabha.
