Rahul confident of People’s Front coming to power in Telangana

Kodangal (Vikarabad District), Nov 28 (IECurrentAffairs): AICC President Rahul Gandhi has exuded confidence that the Congress-led People’s Front will capture the power in Telangana to convert the dreams of the people of the state into a reality.

Addressing a public meeting at Kosgi,a part of the Kodangal assembly constituency in Vikarabad district on Wednesday during his third spell of campaigning in the state, Mr.Gandhi said that five years ago the people had dreams in their eyes of a bright future comprising sufficient water, funds and employment.

But during its 4 1/2 years rule, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti government did

precious little as desired by the people and the dreams remained mere dreams, Mr.Gandhi said and asked “is such government necessary”..

He said the state had a budget of Rs.two lakhs sufficient to spend Rs.two lakhs on each family’s welfare but sadly only one family of KCR had benefited.

Mr.Gandhi charged that the names of the projects started by the previous Congress governments were changed , their estimates hiked and in the process Rs.40,000 crores were misappropriated.

The Congress chief posed a question to youth as to how many of them got jobs out of one lakh jobs promised by the TRS government.

Telangana Jana samiti (TJS) Chief Prof.Kodandaram said that a situation was emerging in the state forcing exodus of the people due to lack of water. He said the People’s Front,of which TJS is a partner,if voted to power would bring down prices of petrol and diesel.

TPCC President Uttam Kumar Reddy was certain that the front would win all the 14 seats in the united Mahabubnagar district and form government on December 11.

Former legislator Mr Revanth Reddy said that the coming election was a fight between the people and the KCR family. He said 40 years ago former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had visited Kosgi and the Congress came to power and hoped that Mr.Gandhi’s visit to the place on Wednesday would augur well for the party.

In a first, Mr Gandhi along with TDP President and AP chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu will campaign later this evening.
