New Delhi, Sep 30 (IENews) India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condoled the loss of lives and devastation due to the tsunami and earthquake in Central Sulawesi in Indonesia.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives and devastation due to tsunami and earthquake in Central Sulawesi in Indonesia. I offer deepest condolences. India stands with its maritime neighbour in this difficult hour”, the Prime Minister said in a statement here.
Rescue workers in Indonesia continued to search the survivors, two days after a powerful earthquake hit the island of Sulawesi, which triggered a tsunami, killing more than 400 people.
A 7.5-magnitude earthquake had hit the island of Sulawesi on Friday.
Over 3,50,000 people live on the island.
