Perth Test: Bumrah praises Virat’s 25th ton

Perth, Dec 17 (IESports) Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah praised skipper Virat Kohli, who struck his 25th Test ton on the third day of the second Test match against Australia here on Sunday.

With this ton Kohli became the second quickest to 25 Test tons ever from 127 innings after Sir Don Bradman who reached the milestone in just 68 innings.

“He is an inspiring leader who leads from the front. I hope it continues for a long time,” the fast bowler said.
He also spoke how Virat pulled his team out of trouble.“He is infectious. We were in a little bit of trouble at the start of the innings, but he led the innings with ease,” Bumrah added.

On the third day, Kohli’s magnificent 123 pushed India to post a total of 283 before Australia ended the day at 132/4, stretching their lead to 175.

“The first session of the first day was the best time to bat because we thought that the wicket was green, but it wasn’t doing much,” Bumrah said.

“After that, it hardened up because there was so much heat, that’s when the bounce increased and the wicket fastened up. Now we have realised what’s happening and we are much clearer in the second innings.’
