Patna, Jan 8 (IECurrentAffairs) Taking suo motu cognizance of the allotment of government bungalows for life to all former state chief ministers including present incumbent to the post Nitish Kumar, Patna High Court today issued notices to all former chief ministers of the state and raised question over the constitutional validity of the related act.
Taking suo motu cognizance of a PIL on the allotment of government bungalows to former CMs for life, the Patna High Court issued notices to all former Chief Ministers of the state asking them to reply to the notices within four weeks.
The court posted the matter for next hearing on February 11. A division bench headed by Chief Justice A.P. Sahi while taking suo motu cognizance of the PIL asked state government and all former chief ministers against whom notices were issued to reply why they could not live at their private residences in the state capital if they were provided security under Bihar State Special Security Act.
The high court asked state government to submit its reply through state chief secretary.
