New Delhi, Sep 24 (IENews) BJP drew the attention of the people India to the ‘thread of commonality’ between Congress and Pakistan after the Congress President Rahul Gandhi who hailed by Pakistani leaders both incumbent and former to be the future Prime Minister of India.
Speaking to media at the National capital, BJP spokesman Sambit Patra said, It seems several Pakistan leaders are already campaigning for Rahul Gandhi. A large number of common Indians want Narendra Modi to continue as Prime Minister, but Pakistan wants Rahul Gandhi to be Prime Minister, he said and also referred to various comments and tweets from Pakistani leaders, including from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“This thread of commonality between Congress and Pakistan, can it be called a mere co-incidence? Or is it more than co-incidence,” he said adding “the manner Congress leaders have commented on situation in India, and the manner Pakistan has supported them, I will say it is all part of a design and not co-incidence”.
In this context, he said Congress president Gandhi had used ‘surgical strike’ by Indian Army into political debate and made a “mockery” of it.
“Pakistan has used your remarks. Pakistan leaders like incumbent Information Minister Fawad Hussain and former Interior Minister Rehman Malik have used these. Rehman Malik says Rahul Gandhi is your (India’s) next Prime Minister because he speaks sense,” Patra said.
He said Mallik also tweeted saying Prime Minister Modi is “scared” of Rahul Gandhi.
The BJP spokesman lamented that even Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has tweeted and described PM Modi as a ‘small man’.
“It is certain by these that some people want Rahul Gandhi should emerge as a big leader in India. Who are these people? What is that thought process which wants Rahul Gandhi to achieve greater milestone?,” he said.
Against this backdrop, Patra sought to answer the question himself and said, “Pakistanis want Rahul should march ahead…Corrupt want Rahul Gandhi to move ahead. Dynasts want Rahul Gandhi to move ahead. And those who believe in appeasement politics want Rahul Gandhi to achieve success”.
But, he said there are others too in India – and in large numbers – who are convinced that Prime Minister Modi should achieve greater achievements and continue to be PM after 2019.
“Who are these, Indians want Modi, while Pakistan wants Rahul. Transparency wants Modi to succeed, poor, Dalit, socialists want Modi should move ahead,” Patra said.
He went onto claim that India has moved much ahead what it was few years ago under stewardship of Mr Modi. “We are now in an era where there is more work and no holiday…Thus neither Pakistan nor Congress can evict Prime Minister Modi,” he said.
The BJP spokesman’s strong words with regard to alleged Congress-Pak nexus come hours after Pakistani leaders like Rehman Malik tweeted, “Rahul is your next PM as he is talking sense in his pressers. PM Modi is scared of him”.
