Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jan 10 (IECurrentAffairs) Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former member of Maharashtra State Minority commission Surjeet Singh Khunger has been appointed as National Vice-President of Minority department of NCP party.
Talking to UNI on Thursday, Mr Khunger said party supremo and former Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar handed over appointment letter to him among others appointments in national capital in Delhi on January 7.
Mr Khunger was with Mr Pawar when he parted ways from congress party in 1999 and started NCP due to differences with Ms Sonia Gandhi. At present Mr Khunger is holding Maharashtra State NCP spokesperson post. Khungar was working since last thirty years in various positions and working round the clock to solve minority community issues across the Maharashtra state.
He further said ,” I am grateful to the our party chief Sharad Pawar and national president of the minority department, Shabbir Ahmed Vidrohi who gave me an opportunity to work at the national level for the cause of minorities community who were facing numbers of problem during the present government regime”.
Adv Majeed Memon MP, Pitamber Master NCP General Secretary and Delhi pradesh NCP women President Ms Seema Malik were also present during the function.
