Moscow, Aug 31 (IECurrentAffairs) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will next week visit the Zvezda shipbuilding complex that will be used to deliver Russian oil and liquefied natural gas to India.
The prime minister and President Vladimir Putin will together visit the Zvezda complex during Modi’s trip to Valdivostok for the Eastern Economic Forum from September 4 to 6, the Russian President’s aide Yuri Ushakov told journalists.
The Zvezda shipyard is being set up on the base of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center by a consortium of Rosneft, Rosneftegaz and Gazprombank.
The shipyard will produce heavy tonnage ships, offshore platform elements, ice-class vessels, special vessels, and other marine equipment.
During the trip, Modi would also attend a judo tournament, Ushakov said.
