Seoul, Sep 26 (UNI) London Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal defeated Kim Hyo Min of South Korea in the straight game 21-12, 21-11, to enter the second round of women’s singles here in Korea Open, here on Wednesday.
Fifth seed Nehwal defeated Kim second time in her career. Earlier, Nehwal registered her first victory over Kim in All England Open-2015.
Now, Nehwal will face World No 78 Kim Ga-eun of South Korea for the first time in her career in the second round.
In another women singles match, India’s Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka lost to Beven Jhang of Malaysia 10-21, 9-21, to make exit from the tournament. The match lasted for just 19 minutes.
