New Delhi, Nov 23(IECurrentAffairs) Making a pitch for building the Ram Mandir at the birthplace of Lor Ram, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said the issue was related to the belief of a lage number of people.
Addressing a press confence in the national capital to announce regarding the Gita Mahotsav, to be held between December 7 – 23 at Kurukshetra, Mr Khattar, answering a question on the Ram Mandir issue , said that
the question was not about making a temple or any place of worship somewhere. Rather, he said, it was about building it at the place of birth of the deity.
‘It is about the belief of a lage number of people. People
of the country have faith on the Supreme Court,’ he said.
Addressing the press meet from the Red Fort lawn here, where Swami Gyananand ji Maharaj , many BJP leaders and MLAs were also present, Mr Khattar said,’ Gita’s knowledge and teachings are not restricted to any specific country . It is followed by all human beings across the globe as it impacts human life.
Gita inspires one to be dedicated towards his work and deeds.’
An exhibition about Gita and Lord Krishna’s teachings has also been put up here to spread the message and teachings and make people aware about Gita.
Asked whether government was more busy promoting religon than focussing on other development , Mr Khattar said that out of the 1 lakh 15000 crore development budget , only 11 crore was being spent on the Geeta Mahotsav.
At the same time, he said that it was also important to take up such programmes as it helps in development of a good mindset in society.
‘ Betterment of Mindset is very important for development in the soicety and such things help improve people’s mindset. It is only when people have a good mindset can infrastructure development remain for long and be preserved,’Mr Khattar said.
Talking about the mahotsav , he said it will inlclude various activities , art and cultural shows, performances and presentations from global artists etc.
This year, the partner state for the Gita Mahotsav will be Gujarat while Mauritius will be the partner country.
The art and culture minister of Mauritius will also be here for the upcoming event .
