Kochi, Oct 30 (IENews) Kerala Police have issued a strict warning to Bishop Franco Mulakkal to submit his laptop to the investigation officers before November 5.
The clergyman accused of rape by a 44-year old nun had to submit his laptop during his questioning on October 28 but he failed to do so and therefore warned to submit the laptop before the next date of questioning.
According to the police, verification of the laptop was crucial in establishing whether the bishop had issued a letter ordering an internal probe against the survivor nun.
During interrogation, the bishop had said that the nun levelled rape charges against him in retaliation to his inquiry order against her.
If Bishop Franco Mulakkal fails to submit his laptop to the Kerala Police his bail would be revoked.
However, it is surprising to note that the Kerala police had not confiscated his laptop during its investigations prior to his arrest.
Bishop Franco Mulakkal is accused of raping a nun 13 times between 2014 and 2016.
