Kerala Assembly adjourned on Sabarimala issue

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 28 (UNI) Kerala Assembly was adjourned on Wednesday for some time after the opposition United Democratic Forum (UDF) members disrupted the proceedings in protest against the police restrictions in Sabarimala.

When the House assembled this morning, the Opposition members disrupted the Question Hour demanding the suspension of Question Hour and allow an adjournment motion on Sabarimala issue.

Demanding the withdrawal of 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPc) and unnecessary police restrictions on devotees, the UDF members shouted slogans against the Chief Minister and displayed placards and banners.

When they disrupted the reply of Chief Minister and tried to enter the dias, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan adjourned the House for some time.

Meanwhile, in protest against the highhandedness of police in Sabarimala, BJP member Of Rajagopal and Janapaksham member PC George reached the House in black robes.

Earlier, PC George said his party will co-operate with the BJP and sit as a separate block in the Assembly
