Google ‘Doodle’ pays tribute to Dr Govindappa Venkataswamy

New Delhi, Oct 1 (IENews) Google on Monday paid tribute to eminent ophthalmologist and founder of Aravind Eye Hospitals Doctor Govindappa Venkataswamy with a doodle in his birth centenary year

The Doodle is visible in India, Australia, and New Zealand. 

It features a mirrored landscape blurred on one side and clear on the other with a caricature of Dr. Venkataswamy in the middle. 

Born on this day in, 1918, in Tamil Nadu, Venkataswamy dedicated his life to eliminating needless blindness. 

According to Google blog post, Known as Dr. V to colleagues and patients, Dr. Govindappa Venkataswamy, founded the Aravind Eye Hospital, which started as an 11-bed facility and has grown into a network of clinics providing life-changing care to citizens of a nation struggling with high rates of blindness.
