New Delhi, Jan 17 (IECurrentAffairs) Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved six lanes NH-709 B of 155 kms connecting Baghpat, Shyamli, Saharanpur, Geeta Colony and Khajuri Khas which will cost Rs 4,405 crore and the foundation of this highway will be laid on January 26, Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari informed here on Thursday.
Addressing the mediapersons here, Mr Tiwari said, ”After winning the Lok Sabha elections, the greatest
problem in my area was to solve the problem of traffic jams. I apprised Mr Gadkari about this problem. Today it is a matter of great pleasure for me that in reply, Mr Gadkari approved six lanes NH-709 B of 155 kms connecting Baghpat, Shyamli, Saharanpur, Geeta Colony and Khajuri Khas which will cost Rs 4,405 crore.”
”This work will be completed within the next 15 to 20 months under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose motto is ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, resulting in great convenience to the 55
lakh people of Delhi. In the 19 kms long elevated six lanes corridor, Delhi will have 14.75 kms,” he said.
”Total amount available to all the seven MPs of Delhi is Rs 35 crore for the area development and contrary to it Arvind Kejriwal Government gets Rs 53,000 crore from the Centre for development works but in spite of this Kejriwal’s Government has failed to implement schemes for providing basic amenities to the people of Delhi.
As the MP of North East Delhi, I have implemented development schemes of Rs 9000 crore with the help of Central Government,” he added.
