Fake call centre busted in Guj, two held for duping US citizens

Ahmedabad, Jan 12 (IECurrentAffairs) Two people were arrested by Gujarat police on Saturday for running a fake call centre through which they had duped US citizens in the name of charges to be paid for various social media portals.

Police said that based on a tip off raid was conducted on the upper floor of a building in which on the ground floor was situated a pharmacy near Pankor Naka in Karanj police station area. One Shahezad Pathan and Purushottam Singh were nabbed from there.

Various equipment,including magic jack, three mobile phones and laptops were also recovered from the spot.

They used to get personal data of the US citizen through magic jack and take money from them in the name of various charges. They used google pay for it also.
