Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Khalifa pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Dubai, Oct 2 (IENews) The world’s tallest building Burj Al Khalifa paid tribute to India’s Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary.

The Burj Al Khalifa was lit with the Indian flag and image of Mahatma Gandhi.

It was also draped with the words of Mahatma Gandhi, ‘Poverty is the worst form of violence’.

Speaking on the occasion India’s Ambassador to UAE Navdeep Singh Suri, said, “I am delighted that we are celebrating on of the tallest personalities the world has seen by screening his image on the iconic building.”

Mohammad Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties, expressed, “Gandhiji’s life has had a profound impact on many generations and his remarkable philosophy of live serves as an inspiration to this day. By honouring Gandhi especially as India marks his 150th birth anniversary celebration, we are also saluting the strong UAE-India ties and the contribution of Indians to the development of our nation.”
