Christians force Church to withdraw disciplinary action against Sister Lucy

Kochi, Sept 24 (IENews) The Franciscan Clarist Congregation (FCC) has decided to withdraw all disciplinary actions against Sister Lucy Kalppuraykkal.

Sister Lucy was barred from participating in Church-related rites at her convent on Sunday. The instruction of being banned from Church-related activities was relayed by the Mother Superior of the convent.

Sister-Lucy was one among the nuns, priests and representatives of 14 Christian-organisations who protested for 14-days at the Vanchi square. Demanding the arrest of accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal who had raped a 44-yr old nun of the Missionaries of Jesus congregation 13-times between 2014-2016.

On Monday evening during the parish meeting, a group of laity entered the church and indulged in an argument with the Father of the church. The laity demanded that there shouldn’t be any action against Sister Lucy.
The widespread anger and pressure from the laity, the father assured that there won’t be any action against the nun.
When she learned about the revoking of the disciplinary action against her Sister Lucy told the media that she was extremely happy with the church decision.
