Centre grants Rs 15 lakh to DD News cameraman’s family murdered in Maoist ambush

New Delhi, Oct 30 (IENews) The family of murdered Doordarshan news cameraman Achyutanand Sahu will receive Rs 15 lakh ex-gratia from the government of India.

Sahu lost his life in ambush laid out by Maoists in Aranpur area of Dantewada district of Chhatisgarh.

“Doordarshan granted Rs 15 lakh and PIB Journalist Welfare Fund granted Rs 5 lakh,” an Information and Broadcasting Ministry official stated.

DD News team was in Chhatisgarh to cover the state assembly elections.

Sahu’s murder has left his wife and daughter devastated.

Two police personnels lost their life in the ambush.
