Panjim: On account of the failing and critical health of the current Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar, senior leaders of the BJP at the Centre and state have commenced the process to appoint a new Chief Minister for Goa.
The party is looking at a CM emerging from within the 13 MLAs of BJP or from the BJP Core Committee in the state.
In a meeting last evening and earlier today, the BJP Core Committee has resolved not to appoint a Chief Minister from outside the BJP fold, as some rumours were floating in Goa and Delhi, that former BJP leader Digambar Kamat who left the BJP for Congress might be inducted back into the BJP party.
GoaChronicle.com has learned that BJP central leaderships are currently deciding between Dr Pramod Sawant, Shripad Naik, Rajendra Arlekar and RSS-Goa Chief Satish Dhond.
The change in Chief Minister position will be made only after taking all the alliance members into confidence.
