Aurangabad, Nov 25 (IESports) Aurangabad City Police Commissioner Chiranjiv Prasad on Sunday flagged off the Aurangabad Heritage Half Marathon (MAHHM) from Water Park at Daulatabad Fort, about 15 km away from here.
About 2,500 enthusiasts from various places, including 10 international runners were participating in the event, which was flagged off at 0615 hrs.
Aurangabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Nipun Vinayak and Aurangabad BJP MLA Atul Save participated in the Marathon.
A special expo, arranged by Aurangabad Black Bucks to highlight the first ‘MIT Aurangabad Heritage Half Marathon’, offered various products/services for the marathon runners on Saturday at MIT campus.
The main aim of the event was to showcase the importance of Aurangabad Heritage across the world map, as Aurangabad is the state tourism capital city, said organisors of the event.
There are eight categories for both male and female runners in three distance run -10 km, 21 km and 25 km. Prizes of around Rs four lakh will be distributed to the winners, they added.
