Kochi: Even though three months have elapsed since the arrest, subsequent interim bail granted to Bishop Franco Mulakkal and the mysterious death of Fr Kuriakose Kattuthara no charge-sheet has been filed by the Kerala police in this shocking case.
In a conversation with IndianExpose.com, a nun close to the rape victim, stated that the nuns will take to streets yet again in protest, if a chargesheet is not filed within the next week.
“This is a deliberate attempt to weaken the case of the nun raped by Bishop Franco Mulakkal,” expressed Sister Anupama.
Interestingly, the government has not yet appointed a public prosecutor for the case. Also the final autopsy report of Fr Kuriakose – a prime witness in the case, who spoke against the evil doings of the Bishop has not yet been made public.
Bishop Franco Mulakkal is accused of raping the 44-year old nun 13-times during the period of 2014 and 2016.
While the Bishop does not hold the office of the Bishop of Jalandhar, he continues to hold the title of the Bishop, as per Catholic Church practise and he has not yet be defrocked.
It is also important to note that Vatican, that claimed that it would conduct a probe into the rape accusations, has not even appointed an investigator of the matter from within the Church.
