17 trains likely to be diverted, terminated after derailment in Moradabad

New Delhi, Nov 22 (IECurrentAffairs) At least 17 trains are expected to be affected– diverted or short terminated– on Thursday following train engine derailment between Damora and Duggan in Moradabad on November 21.

Down train between Moradabad-Bareilly junction are being diverted via Moradabad-Chandausi Bareilly route, a Railway official said here.

Steps have been taken by Commercial Department Railways after the derailment as Sr DCM is in Control since the information of the accident. Commercial Control will be manned by Commercial Officer till restoration, proper announcements are being made at all major stations through PAS.

Catering establishments have been kept open at the stations and refund arrangements made at all concerned stations.

CMIs are deputed at major stations to arrange and oversee catering facilities, refund and proper announcements. The ticket checking staff working in the affected trains have been advised to inform the passengers regarding short termination/diversion to enable them to plan accordingly.

Since the restoration may involve hiring of road cranes and JCBs and allied tools, RMU and BE stations have been advised to keep sufficient cash to provide money from station earnings if need arises and demand is made for restoration activity.

UP Line OHE and Track fit received at 23.55 hrs and first train no.12237 in UP direction passed DAM at 0026 hrs.
